The billboard that rebuilt a nation’s brand love

Despite being founded in Christchurch in 2009 and once renowned as ‘New Zealand’s original flatpack’, Mocka’s brand consideration had started to wane. Kiwis who had grown up with the brand were now raising kids who’d never heard of it. So when IKEA was about to launch its first NZ store in Auckland, it seemed as good a time as any to grow a pair of meatballs of our own and spark some national pride. Our “Less Scandi. More New Zealandi.” billboard went live outside IKEA Auckland, with the brand attributing almost all of its increase in search demand to this single placement.
