G'day, I'm Chingy.
My Chinese name is Wu Shin, which means 'star of martial arts'. I don't know any martial arts. In fact, it probably isn’t fair my parents assumed what I'd be good at — upside, it doesn't mean 'star of accounting'. My grandparents were born in China and Burma, my parents were born in Sri Lanka, and I was born in Doonside. I don't speak Chinese or Sinhalese but I eat fluently in both. My favourite words are benign and penumbra, and my favourite phenomena are crown shyness and fingers of god.
I was a bit late to the advertising party, starting at 27, but since then I've helped deliver a little island its biggest month on record, pulled an entire outfit out of shoes, saved teens the humiliation of grovelling to their parents, and taken a blowtorch to teddy bears to raise funds for bushfires. But my proudest achievements come from tutoring AWARD School, where I've celebrated 1st, 2nd & 3rd place students in 2018, followed by National Top Student, NSW 1st & 3rd, and National Team Brief Winners in 2025.
Always keen to meet new people and discover new things. So, if you’re a person, or know some things, would love to catch up.

“Chris Ching is a consummate professional and extremely diligent. He takes on feedback exceptionally well and is always available to help get the job done. He will never back down from a creative challenge — which is one of the best attributes of a modern-day creative. Chris is also one of the nicest humans in advertising and a pleasure to have in the office. ”
“Chris came to us on a short contract and left having worked a much longer one. For good reason—he came up with the goods time and again, put in the hard yards when required and became an important part in a number of projects. He remains the only creative I’ve ever met who can write a great script with his shirt tucked in, a unique talent that will serve him well wherever he goes. Mostly the being able to write a great script bit.”
“Chris is a talented young copywriter. He tackles every brief in a diligent, thoughtful, dare I say, even considerate, way. Conceptually strong, he’ll serve up fresh ideas and well articulated creative platforms. Then he will present them in a polished manner that belies his tender age. And, once approved—as they’re invariably on-brief—he will carefully craft and polish them to their shiniest best. To top all this off he’s a complete gentleman—even if he does dress like a preppy college student.”
“Christopher has a highly developed knowledge of his letters and sounds and effectively uses this knowledge when engaged in reading and writing activities. His handwriting is fluent and clear.”
